Also, I assert that it is impossible for “Ghastly Affair” players to be churlish blackguards, although I will admit the possibility of the game contributing to moral decay, and libertine indulgence!

I’ve decided to release the Ghastly Companions as a series of focused supplements, rather than one one big book. This way, I’ll be able to get the material into print (and e-print) faster, and each supplement will have a deeper treatment of its subject than would be practical if they were all presented together. While I work on the”Castles”, “High Society” and “Gothic Icons”, books, I’ll also be blogging drafts of the other things mentioned on the “What’s Next” list. For example, I’ve already released the draft of “Bildungsroman” rules. I’ve also been experimenting with different ways of handling mass combat and naval warfare, so you can do things like the Ghastly Peninsula War. Additionally, I’ve been reading a lot of French (and English) Decadent literature, with an eye to expanding the scope of game into the underbelly of the Belle Epoch.That would bring in Classes like the Maudit (for your Charles Baudelaire-inspired PCs).
